Welcome to the Jalapa Chapel web site!

Jalapa Chapel is the name of the ministry that now operates in the former United Methodist Church in Jalapa, Indiana.
The Church closed to formal services in April 2006 and the building was purchased in October 2006 by a local couple, Robert and Deena Finney.

Repairs and minor renovations were done on the building and property and services began on October 14, 2007. These include a Worship Service on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. and a Midweek Bible Study on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

Welcome Home Pastor Jeff!

We welcome Pastor Jeff Shafer back after a six-week intensive study tour of Israel. As part of a team from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN, the group spent time in all parts of the nation and participated in archeological digs. We are thankful for this wonderful opportunity afforded Pastor Jeff and enthusiastically welcome him back to the pulpit of Jalapa Chapel.

Independence Day Celebration!

We will celebrate Independence Day at Jalapa Chapel on Sunday, July 4, beginning with a patriotic worship service at 10 a.m featuring special music and a message on our nation's spiritual heritage by Earl Graves. Pastor Jeff will make closing remarks. The service will be immediately followed by a carry-in picnic on the church lawn. Meat, beverages, and table service will be provided. Everyone is enthusiastically invited to join us as we observe this important holiday in celebration of God's goodness to America.
